The victim, identified as Mamtesh Pasi, a resident of Ompurwa Tadikhana (Chakeri) is a motorist. Lal said his son was allegedly attacked by the same defendants as he returned home Thursday evening. On the way back, the accused grabbed Pasi and dragged him inside the military farm, where he was attacked with sticks and iron bars, and remained unconscious, presumed dead. The attackers fled and also stole Rs 20,000 and a gold chain.
On Friday morning, residents found Pasi breathing and notified his family and the police. He was later admitted to the Kanshi Ram Trauma Center, from where he was referred to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital.
“We are trying to target the attackers. Investigations are underway in this regard, ”Inspector Chakeri Madhur Mishra said.
