Westmeath currently has the busiest land market in the country, with a wide range of properties changing hands.
According to Dillon Murtagh, “If you are looking to buy land then Longford, Westmeath and Meath are the places to come this year. “
Mr. Murtagh has a catalog of farms of various shapes and sizes which will be auctioned off in the coming weeks.
Among them is the sale of a 76 acre farm in Greenpark, Ballinea, Mullingar, located about 5 km west of the town of Mullingar.
Arranged over six manicured fields, the farm has no buildings but has many road facades. The land is described by the auctioneer as good quality land in need of rehabilitation and improvement.
With a guide price of € 500,000, the property will be auctioned online on the LSL platform at 3 p.m. on Thursday 11 November.
A 70-acre non-residential holding in Ballinree, Edgeworthstown in County Longford, will be auctioned a week later with a guide price of € 450,000.
Located just off the N55, the place is laid out into five fields with a decent road frontage and is served by good livestock handling facilities. Murtagh said the ground could get some attention but is fundamentally sound.
The auction will take place online on the LSL platform on Friday November 19 at 3 p.m.
Back in Westmeath, a 37-acre roadside farmhouse overlooking the old Dublin to Kilbeggan road is being auctioned and guided for € 250,000.
Located on the Tyrellspass side of Kilbeggan, the land is of decent quality, divided into neat and orderly divisions that run down to the Brosna River. The land needs to be rehabilitated and improved.
The property is in two lots, both facing the road, one is an 8.5ac plot and the other is 28.5ac.
The latter includes a poultry yard with livestock handling facilities, a three-column hay barn closed on three sides, an A-roof shed and a cubicle house resting on a large concrete deck suitable for storing l silage.
In lots or in its entirety, the fund will be sold on the LSL online auction platform on Thursday, November 18 at 3 p.m.
Potential bidders in all three auctions are encouraged to register and make a deposit with the Murtagh Bros auctioneers one week before the auction.
